Understanding the Spain Study Visa

A Spain Study Visa is required for stays exceeding 90 days for studiestraininginternships, or volunteer work. This visa also covers au pairs and teaching assistants (auxiliares de conversación). Note that if your study period in Spain is less than 90 days, a student visa is not necessary; however, a short-stay visa might be required depending on your nationality.

Eligible Activities

The Spain Study Visa covers a wide range of activities including:

  • Full-time studies (minimum 20 hours per week) at an accredited school leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • Doctoral studies.
  • Training activities.
  • Secondary school exchange programs.
  • Internships or traineeships at public or private entities.
  • Volunteer services.

Required Documents for Students

1. Visa Application Form

2. Photograph

3. Valid Passport

Validity Period
